52 Lessons I Learned the Hard Way

A no-bullsh*t guided journal for figuring out your own sh*t. 52 weekly lessons, honest prompts and room to work out what you actually know.

You’ve been through enough to know a thing or two. So why do you keep saying, “Sure, what the f**k would I know…”?

This is the companion journal to my book Sure, what the f**k would I know… The book was my lessons. This journal is for yours.

There are 52 lessons, one a week for a year. Each one takes a piece of the book, tells you what I learned the hard way and then hands the pen to you. It’s honest and practical, and there’s swearing where it’s needed. You don’t have to be a guru to fill it in, just willing to be straight with yourself.

How it works

Every lesson has four pages:

• Read: a passage from the book and what I learned from it

• Reflect: a line to sit with, a Hard Truth, a Soft Landing, and prompts to Think, Feel and Notice

• Act: “Go On, I Dare Ya” – one thing to actually do this week

• Track: an energy dial to rate yourself from 1 to 10 at the start and end of every week

Four parts take you from surviving to living:

• Wake Up: seeing what’s actually keeping you stuck

• Let Go: putting down what was never yours to carry

• Back Yourself: choosing you, out loud

• Live: building a life you don’t need to escape from

It’s undated, so you can start any Monday. If you fall off, just get back on, because nobody’s keeping score.
